At NCCI, we’re looking for a Manager of our Data Operations Team. In this role, you'll manage a team of Data Analysts and support project management on major divisional systems development initiatives. This team is responsible for oversight of complex Medical data and all associated systems, processes, and the quality of downstream outputs.

This position requires ownership of multiple integrated systems with unique edits, validation, customer relationships, and internal processes specific to medical data. This includes externally facing data tools to collect and manage medical data and systems that are used by internal business partners for core functions. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Participate and provide oversight of project work during documentation phase, such as creating business requirements, project management documentation, CBA's and test cases, and actively participate in testing enhancements or changes to the systems
  • Lead research of potential system issues escalated by either staff or external customers
  • Lead coordination of system changes with Information Technology (IT) partners
  • Support internal staff and external customers by answering questions, responding to inquiries, explaining procedures, and describing systems processes
  • Manage and direct assigned staff; including but not limited to:
    • Decisions about hiring and staffing, position design, organization structure, performance assessment, coaching, pay, corrective action, and separations
    • Develop, review, or approve work schedules, work assignments, work processes, PTO and other time-off requests, and development through relevant training programs for staff

WHAT IT TAKES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or additional related work experience
  • 8+ years experience supporting customers using online tools & services in a data management enterprise, such as:
    • Working in a business analyst environment where work performed includes web-based application/service enhancements
    • Filling a role that requires use of team procedures and technical documentation to deliver on team goals and customer satisfaction
    • Performing in an environment where results are measured using operations metrics, quality results, and delivery to project plans
  • 5+ years experience in a management or lead role successfully coordinating staff to achieve results
  • Experience overseeing operational efficiency of a core business function - continually looking for opportunities to improve the functioning of the area - evaluating standards, systems, and processes while considering perspectives of internal partners, external customers, and industry groups
  • Experience implementing appropriate metrics and quality monitoring for functional area to allow tracking of goal results and provide management to operational activities; providing hands-on quality review
  • Experience filling business project manager role for large systems projects impacting broad customer groups; including guiding business requirements, test strategies, overseeing creation of test plans, and coordinating tester activity, and serving as an industry liaison representing the interests of our stakeholders
  • Experience with performance management of direct reports
  • Experience managing a team of advanced professionals, setting expectations and priorities broadly
  • Ability to interface with IT and communicate business systems, workflow, and customer need concepts 

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Experience with insurance data reporting system practices including claim systems, third party claim systems, and other data reporting services used by the workers compensation industry
  • Experience developing and implementing quality practices to measure and improve team delivery
