Senior Administrative Assistant - Legal department

Job Purpose:

Provides advanced/specialized administrative assistance to a director, division executive or department.Duties are broad in nature and require the incumbent to exercise independent judgment related to assignments.


Major Duties:

Performs administrative and project-related duties to include calendaring, scheduling appointments, meetings, travel arrangements, conference calls and other events as needed.Prioritizes and update tasks, projects and activities.


Conducts independent research, evaluates facts and prepares special reports under minimal guidance.


Reviews reports regularly and responds to inquiries as required. Routinely applies rules and policies to decisions.


Uses a variety software programs and office equipment to perform assignments as well as provides
analytical or technical support.


Prepares complex documents and presentations determining type of information, general format, layout and stylistics.


Works with budget and expense reports, generates communications and processes documents.

Maintains files and records for area of responsibility as needed.


Required Education, Experience and Skills:


High School Diploma/GED and three years administrative experience.

  • Strong knowledge of office practices and procedures.

  • Strong knowledge in the operation of standard office equipment such as copier, fax, computer, etc.

  • Strong knowledge in standard software packages (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.

  • Ability to be resourceful in difficult situations.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:


Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree; other requirements as defined by specific division/department.
