ABOUT THE JOB:
NCCI is seeking a manager who can play a prominent role in our Data Resources division. This is a rewarding opportunity for a highly motivated person who wants to manage a team of professionals in a demanding yet collegial environment.
NCCI has the unique advantage of owning the nation's largest database of workers compensation information. This individual would oversee the data collection and validation of NCCI’s newest data call, the Indemnity Data Call.
The position is responsible for the oversight of a complex data type and all associated systems, processes, and the quality of downstream outputs. The position requires ownership of integrated systems with unique edits, validation, customer relationships, and internal processes specific to the data type. This includes externally facing data tools to collect and manage data and systems that are used by internal business partners for core functions. Manage staff responsible for major divisional systems development initiatives and data collection goals.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS POSITION:
•Participates and provides oversight of project work during documentation phase, such as creating business requirements, PMO documentation, CBA's and test cases and actively participates in testing of enhancements or changes to the systems. Has ultimate responsibility to make go/no-go decisions on migrating changes to the production environment.
•Leads research of potential system issues escalated by either staff or external customers. Assists team members and/or staff members in the research and identification of these questions. Leads coordination of system changes with IT partners.
•Manages and directs assigned staff. Duties include, but are not limited to, decisions about hiring and staffing; position design, organization structure; performance assessment; coaching; pay; and corrective action and separations. Develops, reviews, and/or approves work schedules, work assignments, work processes, PTO and other time-off requests, and development through relevant training programs for staff.
•Supports internal staff and external customers by answering questions, responding to inquiries, explaining procedures, and describing systems processes. Interacts with numerous internal departmental staff while researching and responding to inquiries. Assists problem solving initiatives by participating as either an active team member or on a consultative basis.
•Represents Data Resources at internal cross-departmental meetings as well as external groups. Takes the lead role in on-site customers’ visits to address data tools strategies or resolve customer issues.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE POSITION:
•Bachelor's Degree and 8 years in a customer-oriented enterprise supporting customers using online tools & services in a data management enterprise including:
oWorking in a business analyst environment where work performed includes web-based application/service enhancements
oFilling a role that requires use of team procedures and technical documentation to deliver on team goals and customer satisfaction
oPerforming in an environment where results are measured using operations metrics, quality results, and delivery to project plans
•5 years combined experience in a management and/or business process lead or systems project lead role requiring coordination of staff to deliver on goals and results
•In lieu of a degree, candidates may qualify with 12 years relevant work experience as indicated above including 5 years combination experience in a management and/or business process lead or systems project lead role requiring coordination of staff to deliver on goals and results.
•Experience overseeing operational efficiency of a core business function - continually looking for opportunities to improve the functioning of the area - evaluating standards, systems and processes while considering perspectives of internal partners, external customers, and industry groups
•Experience implementing appropriate metrics and quality monitoring for functional area to allow tracking of goal results and provide management to operational activities, providing hands-on quality review
•Experience filling business project manager role for large systems projects impacting broad customer groups including guiding business requirements, test strategies, overseeing creation of test plans, and coordinating tester activity and serving as an industry liaison representing the interests of our stakeholders
•Experience leading changes impacting core divisional systems including resolution of break-fixes; understanding and ensure requirements are sound, complete, cost-effective, meet business needs, and are a fit with overall customer or data processing strategies
•Experience guiding Subject Matter Experts from functional area in participating in projects owned by other teams - thus they must identify and understand the key strategic connections and industry needs
•Experience developing new and changing roles and responsibilities for staff members as needed - including creating postings for positions to be filled, interviewing, and selecting candidates
•Experience with performance management including termination of direct reports as needed
•Experience developing and mentoring new business project leads
•Experience managing a team of advanced professionals, setting expectations and priorities broadly
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Skills to develop work products - Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio
•Interfaces with IT; easily communicating business systems, workflow, and customer need concepts
•Experience establishing and prioritizing project work activities against delivery dates using complex multi-year project plans
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU A MORE VIABLE CANDIDATE:
