JOB OVERVIEW:

NCCI, located in Boca Raton, FL, is a highly respected organization in the workers compensation insurance industry known for being the trusted source of information services.

This individual assists with relatively complex accounting functions for the company.  The position will conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support business decisions and ensure the company is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles for various general ledger areas.

WORK LOCATION:

This position is open to candidates living in a local, commutable distance from our headquarters location in Boca Raton, FL.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THE POSITION:

Supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes by preparing all types of journal entries timely, accurately, and in compliance with GAAP. Ability to collaborate with other Finance personnel to obtain information as needed to properly account for various financial transactions. Ensuring AP/AR subledger transactions and bank transactions are properly reflected in the general ledger.

Assist with preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, journal entries, and monthly account reconciliations. Ability to investigate reconciling items and obtain needed information for accurate documentation and resolutions.

Responsible for all aspects of revenue accounting in accordance with GAAP. Provide revenue variance reports and explanations for fluctuations between actual, budgeted, and forecasted amounts. Ability to work closely with the Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Departments to ensure proper accounting treatment.

Assist with other reasonably complicated ad hoc matters related to revenue, receivables, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, taxation, AR/AP subledger, and bank transactions.

Prepares accounting and supporting schedules for the annual financial statement audit performed by Deloitte & Touche. Also, assist with audit inquiries and internal audit requests.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE POSITION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or other relevant field
  • 5 years of financial accounting experience in a corporate environment or a minimum of 3 years of strong GAAP experience with a large public accounting firm.
  • Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Good oral and written communication skills as well as good analytical skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 
  • Strong research, accounting ledger, and reconciliation skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational/record-keeping skills. 

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU A MORE VIABLE CANDIDATE:
