At NCCI, we’re looking for an OracleDatabase Administrator that will help implement and maintain our enterprise databases while working closely with our Application Development teams to provide solutions to satisfy business needs.

We are currently seeking candidates experienced in Oracle, with at least one other skill in the following technologies:SQL Server,MongoDB, Postgres, MariaDB.

This position is available to work remotely within the U.S.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Database Administrator, you’ll work on all database-related activities, including software installation, configuration, securing, database creation, monitoring of system health and performance for reliability, performance, and accessibility. In addition, you’ll:

  • Write proactive scripts, stored procedures, and jobs to ensure the databases are running efficiently, support backup/recovery procedures, maintenance, and integrity
  • Perform yearly patching of software to stay current and close vulnerabilities
  • Advise, educate, and work with application developers tuning SQL queries, reviewing database configurations, and troubleshooting
  • Implement physical database designs and migrate database changes through various environments and into production
  • Create and test backup/recovery plans, ensuring databases are recoverable from disaster situations
  • Document and maintain database standards, policies, and procedures for effective operation, access, and control of DBMS environments

WHAT IT TAKES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or related experience
  • 6+ years of experience in Database Administration, including multiple DBMS
  • Experience in Oracle required
  • Experience Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Exadata, and/or RAC preferred
  • Experience in MongoDB or Postgres beneficial
  • Strong Linux skills, including troubleshooting and programming (Shell, Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Configuration, installation, patching, and upgrades of database software
    • Database performance tuning, backup, and recovery
    • Risk assessment techniques
  • Ability to develop policies and procedures related to database management
  • Familiarity with CIS benchmarks for databases and implementation of best security practices
  • Results-driven with the ability to multi-task and manage a variety of projects
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 database support environment as required


PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Within our DBA team, our employees have a well-rounded skillset that maintain our success in the maintenance and utilization of a variety of databases, software, tools, and resources. Having experience with the below is preferred:

  • Oracle, Exadata/RAC, EBS, RMAN, Enterprise Manager
  • SQL Server, PowerBI, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, PowerShell
  • MongoDB database knowledge, replica set configurations, PMM, NoSQL Booster
  • Qlik Replication software familiarity
  • DBArtisan, Aqua Data Studio, HeidiSQL
  • DataDomain
  • VMware, vRA, Linux containers and virtualization (Docker), Kubernetes, Git
  • AWA scheduling software
  • Knowledge of High Availability options for supported database software
