In this role you will design, develop, and implement the content models, architecture, maps, taxonomies, and metadata manage and maintain the largest suite of workers compensation manual content in the country. This role is responsible for collaborating with our various business units to develop the best content strategy, to turn our manuals into flexible and easy to access content, which meets our customers’ needs.


  • Creating the strategy for the overall design and development of the information architecture for our content to enable use and re-use.
  • Designing and implementing information maps and models that integrate content into the overall structure to improve its semantic value.
  • Organize and create efficient metadata models, taxonomy namespaces, and search schemas
  • Define and implement faceted search requirements
  • Designing ongoing DTD and stylesheet development, automation and scripting, new media consulting and publishing
  • Working with teams to build and architect new CCMS and CMS based solutions
  • Collaborating efficiently with teammates to identify and resolve problems
  • Working with IT on system architecture for structured content, content security, performance, and analytics
  • Recommend modifications to content workflows and operations where appropriate to improve content models and structures and collaborate to implement those modifications.
  • Designing and developing procedures and practices used by Information Architects and authors to manage and troubleshoot DITA/XML content transformation and publishing items


  • A bachelor’s degree and 5 -7 years of experience with content strategy and information architecture
  • Vision to develop, define, and refine the “Big Picture” strategy for content usage for enterprise content creation, use and reuse.
  • Expert in structured XML authoring and editing tools including Document Information Typing Architecture (DITA), XMetal, and oXygen; and Experience with SQL Server
  • Knowledge of common component content management systems (CCMS), Content Management Systems, and XML editors preferred.
  • Collaboration with other roles to create, manage, reuse, customize, and deliver content.
  • Comprehension of business drivers and their impact on content creation, reuse, and delivery.
  • Solid understanding of content hierarchy, defining taxonomies, and Metadata Schemas
  • Strong communication skills to gain support for team initiatives from stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance aspirational architecture/enrichment goals with near-term deliverables and advise managers regarding options/compromises in development in order to support MVP decision making and meet roadmap milestones
