ABOUT THIS POSITION:

Join the leader in workers compensation data and information services in the role of an Actuarial Analyst where you will produce standard actuarial analyses for NCCI’s actuarial products and services, such as rate filings, legislative cost analyses, reserving, and research. 

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS POSITION:

Complete assigned standard actuarial analysis for rate filings, legislative cost analyses, reserving, data validation, products, and/or research. This includes utilizing actuarial systems and programming skills to access and organize the data, performing the applicable actuarial calculations, analyzing moderate to complex information, evaluating results and the accuracy of inputs, updating exhibits and slides, and completing documentation.


Develop an understanding of the technical, actuarial, insurance, economic, and statistical concepts behind the task performed. Develop proficiency in using actuarial systems and NCCI databases.


Sit for and pass actuarial exams. NCCI offers an Actuarial Student Program.

WHAT YOU MUST BRING TO THE POSITION:

  • Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of two (2) years of actuarial experience, and three (3) CAS-accredited actuarial exams. (Candidates with fewer years of experience or exams who can demonstrate the ability to perform Actuarial Analyst work, may be considered).

  • Technical knowledge:
    • Working knowledge of basic insurance, actuarial and statistical concepts, actuarial analysis in one actuarial area, good data analysis skills, and demonstration of exam progress

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU A MORE VIABLE CANDIDATE:

  • Experience in workers compensation in an actuarial role with a carrier
  • Advanced degree in mathematics, computer science and/or data science
  • Statistical modeling experience; working knowledge of MS Office applications, programming expertise (e.g., R, SQL, VBA and/or Python)
  • Familiarity with NCCI’s products and data
