Meeting Planner

Job Purpose:
Provides internal and external meeting and event support company wide. Responsible for all aspects of planning, coordinating, communicating and executing meetings and events for NCCI.

Position requires up to 85% travel which will include overnight stays. 

Major Duties:
Responsible for all aspects of planning, coordinating and executing all activities related to business meetings, conferences, career fairs and special events while maximizing the return on investment. This includes hotel or venue selection, budget preparation, contract negotiations, selection of food and beverage and audio visual equipment.

Keep current on trends and changes in the industry to improve the effectiveness as a Meeting Planner and the overall success of all meetings and events.

Responsible for cultivating and maintaining a high-value relationship with the internal and external customers and vendors at all times.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience in meeting planning in either a corporate setting or hotel/catering atmosphere (In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, incumbent would need 7 years’ experience in meeting planning in either a corporate setting or hotel/catering atmosphere).
• Detailed Knowledge: Site selection, contract negotiation, menu planning, audio visual equipment, budget preparation and administration
• Skills: Solid Microsoft Office skills. Detail oriented with meticulous planning, organizational and negotiating skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines while still meeting budget, creative problem solver, excellent verbal and written communication, works well in team-oriented environment
• Abilities: Relate to people in a manner to win confidence, support, and understanding in the purposes, programs, and goals of the organization.

Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Certification
