At NCCI, we’re looking for a Facilities Technician to join our Building Services team. This role is responsible for hands-on repairs of our beautiful Toby Award winning 300,000 square foot facility and maintenance of 18 acres of manicured grounds. You’ll also assist in overseeing and coordinating outside vendor’s activities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Facilities Technician, you’ll perform building and grounds repairs and maintenance tasks, such as minor drywall repairs and painting, door hardware replacements, roof maintenance, office furniture reconfiguration, plumbing fixture repairs, sprinkler head replacements and adjustments, Data Center maintenance, monitoring, installation, and relocation of racks, and other activities. In addition, you’ll:

  • Respond to ongoing work and event support requests
  • Perform physical staff moves as directed by management
  • Complete routine building inspections and check lists
  • Operate Building Automation and Facilities Management Systems
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctioning utilizing testing tools (example: test and balance airflow with air hood and diagnostic tools)
  • Share emergency on-call rotation duties with other maintenance staff

WHAT IT TAKES:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of commercial facility maintenance, related skilled building trade experience, or certified educational trade program
  • Ability to work a 24-hour on-call rotation required (1 week, approximately every 6 weeks)
  • Experience with disaster recovery
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of commercial building operating systems
  • Intermediate computer skills to learn and work with the building automationsystems
  • Strong verbal communication skills and work ethic
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Maintains safe work practices/environment
  • Ability to read building blueprints and specifications
  • Skills in plumbing, electrical, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), energy management, life safety, general repairs and carpentry, painting, finishes, and light construction practices
  • This position requires operating a company vehicle. The candidate will subject to a review of their motor vehicle driving history.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Building Owners Management Association (BOMA) or System Maintenance Administrator (SMA) designations
