Ensures physical plant is maintained to achieve maximum useful life and safe operation by supervising or performing various tasks in the installation, repair, maintenance, and operation of electrical, mechanical and life safety systems throughout the facility. Supervises and coordinates scheduling, construction and furnishing for renovation and new construction projects.
Supervises individual project assignments from start to finish including, scheduling and coordinating all activities so that projects are completed in accordance with plans
Provides technical support and guidance to IT Department for installation of new equipment in the Data Center including reviewing power requirements before acquisition. Takes lead role in maintenance of power distribution system.
Manages all Preventative Maintenance programs for facility equipment. Creates schedules to maintain preventive maintenance programs.
Inspects, maintains and calibrates a variety of building equipment utilizing various measuring tools.
Operates the Building Automation System to ensure efficient operations.
Monitors energy savings initiatives to reduce power consumption.
Participates in emergency preparedness and recovery activities.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
•High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of experience in facility maintenance or in construction industry as an electrician, HVAC mechanic or controls technician.
•Certification in one of the following areas: Facility Management, Energy Management and Building Automation Certification, Building Owners Management Association (BOMA) Designation in the area of Facilities Management Administration.
•Must have knowledge of building systems operation and ability to read and understand blueprints with emphasis on power distribution, HVAC, mechanical and electrical equipment.
•Proven technical problem-solving abilities and vendor management skills.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Energy Management, Building Automation and Facility Management Software applications.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Building Owners and Management Association (BOMA) Professional Designation SMA (Systems Maintenance Administrator) or SMT (Systems Maintenance Technical).
